In games I'll keep backtagging for a month or so usually. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: Yep, go for it. ♚ THREADHOPPING: Go for it. ♚ OFF-LIMITS: No eye gore please. ☄ CONTENT WARNINGS ♚ ALCOHOL: Once the Tulpar crashes and the crew find out they were hauling mouthwash Swansea (a formerly recovered alcoholic) breaks his sobriety with the stuff. ♚ AMPUTATION / MISSING LIMBS: Curly ends up losing both arms below the elbow and both legs due to his injuries during the Tulpar's crash. ♚ BODY HORROR: Curly's injuries post Tulpar crash are extensive and horrific. He loses an eye, has most of his skin burned off and loses all of his limbs. Jimmy also hallucinates about a monstorous version of The Pony Express mascot. ♚ CANNIBALISM: Jimmy forces Curly to eat part of his own leg. ♚ DEATH / MURDER / SUICIDE: Over the course of the game everyone on the Tulpar aside from Curly dies. Anya kills herself by overdosing on pain medication. ♚ DRUGS: Curly is kept on a regular regiment of painkillers post-Tulpar crash due to his extensive injuries. Anya uses these painkillers to commit suicide. Also Swansea is drugged with a mixed drink. ♚ GASLIGHTING: Jimmy tells everyone that Curly was the one who crashed the Tulpar leading to the events of the game. It's all a lie with Jimmy being the one deliberately crashing the ship to get out of taking responsibility for what he did to Anya prior to the game. ♚ MENTAL HEALTH: The events of the game are chiefly focused on the quick mental breakdown of Jimmy as he tries to play captain and keep dodging responsibility. We also seen Anya's mental health deteriorate as well. ♚ MISOGYNY: This is a major theme in the game. When Anya reveals that Jimmy raped her to the ship's captain Curly he hesitates in doing anything about it until Anya tells him she's pregnant due in part to Curly being friends with Jimmy. ♚ PREGNANCY: Anya reveals to Curly she is pregnant after being raped by Jimmy. Due to the length of the Tulpar's planned trip she would end up having this child before they returned home. When she confronts Jimmy about this he tells her something along the lines of "take care of it". Afterwards he crashes the Tulpar to avoid responsibility for what he's done. ♚ RAPE / SEXUAL ABUSE / SEXUAL ASSAULT: It's never explicitly stated but the game heavily hints that Jimmy has been sexually abusing Anya. How long this has gone on prior to the start of the game isn't clear. ♚ VIOLENCE: There are several scenes of graphic violence from all of the deaths that occur among the crew members. Anya is implied to have a good sense of humor, from pinning Daisuke's Yimpy drawing on the board in the medical room to her playful teasing of Swansea during the "birthday" party. She apparently gets along well with the rest of the crew and was much livelier before the events of the game.
We're told in developer diaries that Anya is a very driven person, spending much of her free time studying for her next try at medical school. She's attempted to get in eight times now and while so much failure could drag anyone down Anya uses her money from working for the Pony Express to fund her continued tries. Considering how she manages to keep a very critical patient alive for months she's not doing so bad and it's theorized it's testing anxiety that keeps her from passing.
To clear her head Anya likes to go running and when she really needs to zone out she watches terrible reality television and eats the greasiest fast food she can.
She's also said to be extremely competitive -- maybe that's why she keeps trying for medical school. Her and a crewmate Daisuke have had some very heated moments playing board games together.
